Still Going Well

We have had many more visitors these past few weeks, and I am delighted to say that things are going really well.

The Stockton and Stratton meats are nearly ready with their on farm butchery, and all our guests have really enjoyed the sausages and bacon that they have for breakfast.  One of our pigs has just had a litter of piglets, which the children are really enjoying seeing.

We've Opened!

We had our first visitors on 9th September, and it went really well (please see visitor comments).  Those visitors that have stayed with us seem very impressed with the rooms and their facilities, and most have enjoyed a lovely meal in the Grosvenor Arms at Alford.  I have really enjoyed meeting everybody, and all seem very impressed with the breakfast (lots of empty plates).  So for the first ten days that we have been open for bookings, so far so good.........

Stockton and Stratton Launch

The big news this week is the first retail sales of ‘Stockton & Stratton’, the range of top-quality meat that we launched this year. We started the company for the same reasons that farmers across the country are starting their own businesses – we wanted to have more control over what we sold and how we sold it, and to make some money out of it, too! We can choose what breeds we run, how we raise and slaughter them and who we sell to. By selling direct to local businesses and individuals, we can sell a top-quality product at prices that people can afford, and keep the food miles as low as possible. You can try our sausages for yourself at breakfast!
